About Us
RIBA Chartered Practice, Rural Space Architecture is a Stroud based, design-led studio, focusing on unique projects in challenging contexts to create beautiful Architecture and Interiors for private clients. The practice works on a variety of listed properties, as well as barns for commercial use. Looking to enhance a boutique hotel, extend a countryside pub, or develop a wedding venue- we offer a friendly, client-focused approach with deep respect for heritage and setting.
The practice was established in 2023 by Charlie and Eva who oversee each project and work closely with a small team of trusted professional consultants.​ We aim to provide a personalised design service that focuses on our Clients' individual needs and allows for a collaborative and joyful process informed by their aspirations, budget and timeframe. We are passionate about good quality design, working with the existing fabric of a building and evolving it to suit 21st-century needs.

We can help you towards obtaining planning permission and/or listed building consent.
Experience working on and in the context of existing listed buildings such as Grade I, II* and Grade II.
Open and honest conversations with our clients and consultants we work with.
​Working with Local Planning Authorities and other statutory roles like Historic England.
Working in tricky sites and settings such as woodlands, AONBs, Green Belt and conservation areas.
Extensions, new builds, barn conversions and other use business considerations such as Estates, Wedding venues, Hotels etc.
Working with natural based materials in new and existing contexts when we can.
We will challenge your brief to try and understand your needs for either you, your home or your business.
Post planning work including Detail Design and Contract Administration.
