Estates & Landowners

Working with estates and landowners to unlock potential in buildings, land, and ideas — one step at a time.

Unlocking the potential of redundant buildings and rural land through thoughtful, design-led diversification.
We're working with estates and landowners to help reimagine underused buildings and land — from new farm buildings and solar fields to the adaptive reuse of traditional outbuildings. Whether you're stewarding a working estate, managing farmland, or exploring diversification, we offer early-stage advice and design-led support to help you make informed decisions with clarity and confidence.
We assess the viability of converting or repurposing redundant farm buildings, estate outbuildings, or ancillary spaces — exploring alternate uses that align with your goals, planning context, and long-term vision.

Our feasibility studies offer high-level advice on:
•     Site layout and access
•     Building  condition and potential from an Architect's perspective
•     Planning considerations and constraints
•     Diversification opportunities
•     Guest/user experience and operational flow

Please see our Rural Businesses feasibility studies for more information

These studies can be carried out alongside our trusted planning consultants, or in collaboration with your existing planning consultant or land agent — whichever suits your setup best.

Developing Your Project Further

Following a feasibility study, we’ll discuss next steps and how your project can be developed further — for example, by bringing in additional consultants as needed. This might include a structural engineer to assess the condition and suitability of buildings for reuse based on our initial ideas or further developed design. A quantity surveyor can provide early-stage cost estimates aligned with your goals, while an M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) engineer can assess existing services and advise on potential upgrades, including green energy options. Together, this builds a clearer picture of viability, constraints, and investment — giving you the confidence to move forward, seek funding, or prepare for planning.

A Relationship to Last

We understand that working with an estate is a long-term relationship — and we’re here for the journey. Alongside larger strategic work, we’re happy to support with smaller projects too, from bespoke joinery and refurbishments to one-off conversions. Whether it’s a single building or a wider estate vision, we approach every project with care, clarity, and a commitment to lasting value.
